I’ve been cleaning my floors with a Norwex Mop for the past several years, and one of the most common questions I get is, “Is a Norwex Mop worth the money?”
To answer the question in more detail, I’ve reviewed all of the pros, cons, and details of a Norwex Mop.
About the Norwex Mop
First, let me start out by saying that the quality of a Norwex Mop is second to none.
Norwex has really done a great job in making each component of the mop very durable, and they last a very long time.
Norwex Telescopic Mop Handle
The Telescopic Mop Handle is made out of a sturdy aluminum, and easily adjusts to fit your height. You can adjust the handle anywhere from 38.5 inches to 62.9 inches. To fit your height, once it is attached to the Mop Base, twist handle and raise to between chin and nose height.
Norwex Mop Base
The durable mop base comes in small or large and easily snaps into the handle. There’s also an easy to use locking mechanism on the base, if you want to keep the base from rotating when cleaning a specific area.
Velcro® strips secure Mop Pads to the base. The mop base also has rubber edging to protect your walls, baseboards, and furniture.
Norwex Wet Mop Pads
The microfiber Wet Mop Pad is ideal for washing floors and even walls. After using, just remove the wet mop pad from base, rinse and hang to dry.
The wet mop pad does not need to be laundered after every use – only when the front inch of the pad edge gets dirty.
Norwex Dry Superior Mop Pads
The Dry Superior Mop Pad is made up of 100% Norwex microfiber. These pads are the best!
These pads typically pick up a lot more fine dust than the polyester pads. So if you want the best clean possible, I recommend the Superior Dry Pad.
What I love about the Norwex Mop
With two active little boys and a dog, the Norwex mop is the best cleaning tool I have in my home!
We have a lot of spills, dirt, smudges, and footprints on our dark, hardwood floors. With the Norwex Mop, the clean up is very fast, and easy.
Cleans with Water
With my youngest son having some skin issues, I really try to avoid harmful chemicals as much as possible.
My boys are always crawling and wrestling on our floors, and I really like that they’re not rolling around on surfaces that have been covered in chemicals.
Norwex Microfiber
I personally love Norwex microfiber, so I use the Dry Superior Pad instead of the regular polyester Dry Pad.
The microfiber in the Dry Superior Pads are statically charged and will pick up the smallest particles of dirt, dust, pet hair, crumbs, and microparticles. We’ve found that the dry mop works even better than our vacuum for getting up fine dust and hair.
Mop Pad Design
There are two really great things that sometimes go unnoticed at first with both the wet and dry mop pads.
First, both pads are “oversized” for the actual mop base. This is helpful so that you can clean larger areas faster.
Also, both pads have a soft, rubber edge guard to protect your furniture and baseboards from getting nicked up.
Easy to Clean
The Norwex mop pads are very easy to clean. After using them a few times, you can just put them in the washer and dryer.
High Quality
One of the most frequent compliments I hear on the Norwex Mop is how well made it is. The Telescopic Mop Handle makes this the most durable mop I’ve ever used.
Saves Money
Perhaps the biggest complaint that I’ve heard about the Norwex mop is its cost. But honestly, over the past few years, I’ve calculated that my family has saved around $420 by switching to the Norwex Mop.

Norwex Mop Warranty
I really like good warranties, and a lot of times it has been the difference in my decision to buy something. Especially products that are somewhat expensive.
Norwex offers a 1 year warranty on the mop, and 60 day return policy, so I had the opportunity to make sure I really loved it (and I did!). Also, Norwex has a great warranty on the microfiber that covers any problem with the microfiber (outside of normal wear and tear) for a period of two years.
I personally just like having that peace of mind knowing if it doesn’t work out, I’m not out on my money.
What I didn’t love about the Norwex Mop
When I first started using a Norwex Mop, there was really only one thing that I didn’t love about it. Getting all of the dirt and debris off of the dry mop pad after cleaning.
I found myself either beating the dry pad against the side of my front porch or using my fingers to get some of the larger pieces off. On the positive side, I was really happy with how well the Norwex microfiber worked in trapping dirt and debris. But getting all of that off wasn’t my favorite thing.
I solved this problem by ordering the Norwex Rubber Brush, and it has made such a difference! The brush really works great for getting all of the dirt, debris, and especially hair off of the dry pad.
I also use the Rubber Brush to clean a few other Norwex products, so I’ve really gotten my money’s worth.
Since making this small change, I have no more complaints about the Norwex mop.
Norwex Mop vs. Swiffer
For this review, I decided to compare the Norwex Mop to Swiffer, for two main reasons:
- Swiffer is the most popular floor cleaning system today
- I used Swiffer for years before making the switch to a Norwex Mop
Cost Comparison
One of the biggest differences in the Norwex Mop vs. Swiffer is the costs. Actually, a better way to look at it, is in terms of value.
Swiffer mops are not known for their durability, so they sell their mop pretty cheap (about $12). Plus, they know that they’ll make their money every time you have to buy both the wet and dry refill pads.
With two little boys and a dog, I found myself having to use my wet pads about twice a week, and the dry pads about four times a week (as you can imagine, we have lots of crumbs on our floor). From other moms I’ve talked to, this seems to be about average use for most families.
The first thing I did to see if the cost of a Norwex Mop was worth it, was to do a rough cost comparison (without taxes, shipping, etc…). Here’s how it looked for my family:
- Swiffer Mop = $12 (assuming you only have to buy once)
- Wet Swiffer Pads = $32/year
- Dry Swiffer Pads = $72/year

For me and my family, the answer is definitely yes!
I have also talked to many others who have bought a Norwex Mop, and I still have not found anyone who doesn’t like it.
