Let’s face it, there’s nothing quite like an absorbent sponge for wiping up spills and cleaning up wet messes. However, most sponges are not the best for removing stubborn, stuck-on dirt and grime. Can the Norwex EnviroSponge really do both?
What Is The Norwex EnviroSponge?
The Norwex EnviroSponge is a dual-sided, multipurpose sponge that is pretty unique. It can be used wet or dry.
The sponge has Norwex EnviroCloth® microfiber with BacLock®* on one side and special scrubby microfiber on the other.
EnviroCloth Microfiber Side
The inner foam combined with the highly absorbent EnviroCloth® microfiber absorbs all kinds of spills and soppy messes. As with the EnviroCloths which have been around forever, this Norwex sponge really does a great job of absorbing.
The soft EnviroCloth microfiber side also has the ability to remove up to 99% of bacteria from a surface when following the proper care and use instructions.
The Scrubby Side
The scrubby side is what really makes this sponge unique and special.
I’ve found this to be great for scrubbing away soap scum, mold and mildew stains, and even hard water deposits in the bathroom.
In the kitchen, I tend to use this side most in removing burnt-on spills from pots and pans. I do a lot of cooking, so this has really come in handy. It’s also great for getting rid of the dried-on residue from plates.
This sponge has also worked well for me in cleaning toilets (makes it a little easier and a little less gross).
How To Use The Norwex EnviroSponge
This sponge can be used repeatedly, which in my experience is great. I don’t like to continually reach for a new sponge or dispose of old ones, so having this as my go-to has been great (I know, first world problems).
The EnviroCloth side can be used wet or dry to quickly absorb liquid spills and bring surfaces to a high shine.
Dampen first, then use the scrubby side to remove stuck-on, burnt-on stains and spills. Use the EnviroCloth side to wipe down countertops, refrigerator shelves and more.
The sponge works really well on many different surfaces. However, when using on easily scratched surfaces such as brushed stainless steel, first test Norwex Microfiber on an inconspicuous spot. It’s not for use on anti-glare surfaces.
Is The Norwex EnviroSponge Machine Washable?
Yes – and this was a big plus for me. However, do not use bleach, fabric softeners or dryer sheets!
Fun Tip: You can also clean the EnviroSponge by placing it on the top rack of your dishwasher.
How To Care For The Norwex EnviroSponge
Between uses, squeeze or wring out excess moisture and allow to air dry.
Slightly dirty EnviroSponges
Can be washed with Norwex Dishwashing Liquid under warm running water and used again before laundering.
They need to be rinsed thoroughly after washing and air or machine dried.
Heavily Used EnviroSponges
Should be laundered using a Norwex laundry detergent after each use.

Since it came out, the Norwex EnviroSponge has become one of my go-to products. I find myself using these in one way or another almost daily.
I think this could be the most under-used or under-appreciated Norwex product that is available.
They are sold as a pack of two which makes it a good value for the dollar at just $19.99 since they are very long lasting. Plus, you can always have on hand. I tend to keep one in the kitchen and one in your bathroom.
Everyone I know who has tried this product has liked it. In fact, you start to wonder how you ever got along without it.
